Rear bumper install.
This is the latest addition to my cherokee, a new rear bumper by Marc. To install one of Marc's bumpers you have to gain access to the inside of the rear of the frame. In the first picture you can see where the metal is cut away so you have access to the inner frame. There is a strip of metal in both sides with nuts welded to it, this must be removed. Rear bumpers made by Marc have quarter inch thick plates that slide into the frame where the metal strip with bolts was. These plates have the mounting bolts welded to them and line up with existing mounting holes that are in the frame. My cherokee has the upcountry package and I had no problems with the gas tank skid plate mounting holes or the rear tow hook mounting holes lining up. This bumper is made from a 3/16 inch thick 2 x 4 rectangular tube, heavy. Marc is located in Manassas VA and I don't think that he ships. Starting price on his rear bumper is $180. Yup, when the weather is a little nicer I'll do the cut and fold. When your on the London Tube (subway) they always tell you to "mind the gap" (between the train and the platform); I don't.
I'm having a front bumper made right now, the main piece is a 3/16th inch 2 x 6 rectangular tube.
The rock rails with frame protection will come a little later because another guy is having it done too and we got a good deal for two.
This is a pic of Marc working on his cherokee; a roll over is nothing for that thing, he did an end over end and drove away.

Haaaa!! I can't wait for the front bumper. I'm going to have him weld on rock sliders too, they come with full frame protection.
I don't get the lack of response from the local CF people, you can't touch custom bumpers for the price Marc charges.
When are we going four wheeling again? What's the next event? I just put a cat back Flowmaster Super 44 exhaust on (failed state inspection), sounds great.
