Obx in july

I ll be heading down to obx in July for a family vacation. Is there anything happening that month?

Any legal trails I can go?

The 4th Annual CF OBX run will be happening either late July or early August. We haven't set a date yet but it's usually a pretty good turn out. If you hit up Corolla you go on some roads/trails behind the dunes. Not sure of anywhere else.

Outer Banks

I live on Hatteras Island. We have about 3 miles of trails in the maritime forest.
Whoops and a few sandy spots. It's fun and nice but not exciting.
Beach driving requires a permit (have one). At low tide jumping the camel humps is fun.
I hit a couple of local properties too including the go-cart track that is closed down.
As mentioned,Corolla has trails instead of roads and 2 spots to have fun in and a bunch of water holes 4-5 feet deep. That's 1 hour North from here.
Hit me up for an adventure.
Also have a home garage with welder and most tools and know-how for an XJ.

30 minutes. Cross Oregon Inlet Bridge and you are on Hatteras Island.
Forest trails are in Buxton, another 20 minutes.

How is it? What's ur personal experiences with that place.

I have been riding and exploring the place for 20 years on mountain bike, dirt bike, hiking, horseback and in the Jeep.
The jeeptrails access hiking trails and singletrack.
There is 1 private road and it is marked. It's mostly slow stuff because of the whoops. There are some fast parts for rally style driving once a pass is made to check for anyone else. Mostly shaded too.
I rarely see anyone back there. Occasional walkers on Sundays. Horses on the back trails in the morning.
There is a scenic gravel road in Nags Head behind The Nature Conservancy. Nice drive with hiking trails off to the sides.

It isn't the kind of place I would get stuck? I don't have a winch

Not at all.
I only use 4x4 to make one turn. The rest is hard-pack and a little sandy. I do not even air down. However letting a bit of air out will smooth it out. A lot of it you could ride a bicycle on. You will not get stuck.
I live 15-20 minutes from there. The beach driving is closer.
I Have a garage and welder if you have any projects.
I just installed a LED bar inside the front bumper.
