NC camping and 4x4
Im stationed out in Lejeune, and after my buddies and I get back from afghanistan, we are trying to find a good place within 5-6 hours to get a good camping trip and some nice off roading and 4x4ing.
We are looking for somewhere we wont see too much population at all, and experience the nice outdoors. Anyone know any place in the mountains or anything like that around NC, SC, or VA?
thanks

I know in western NC there's a place called Tellico OHV. Has like 11 or 12 trails, it's in Franklin NC to be exact, and i'm not sure if they have campgrounds there.
I'm also looking for something like this. I go to school where SC, TN, and NC all meet. Mostly looking for a nice campground with good views
EDIT: Just saw you're in Jacksonville, it'll be a good 7 hour drive there for you :\

But mostly, i'm interested in sweet camp sites. Cool views, light trails, things like that.

hello y'all
im in Asheville NC. i am currently building my 2001 Grand Cherokee Limited. It is bone stock now but I like many other jeep enthusiasts have big plans for it. I don't know of any jeep clubs or trail groups in my area, then again i haven't looked to hard. Id like to go sometime and id be willing to meet somewhere and chip gas to whoever i can ride along with. I look forward to making plans-

i live in wilmington nc and i take my 95 cherokee out to the north end of carolina beach every sunday. you can drive on the sand there. you can also camp. usually a lot of people, but its kinda nice with the sand, surf, bikinis and getting to test your jeep and driving skills in some real soft sugar sand. i love seeing the look on peoples faces when a little cherokee pulls a full size pickup or suv out of the sand!
