Moving to Charlotte, NC

I am moving to Charlotte in the next few months and I'm hoping to connect with some local forum members and get some XJ info on the area. Any info you can share will be appreciated.

Here's some of what I'm hoping to learn from the locals:
>Any good Cherokee, Jeep, or off-road clubs
>good mechanics
>Off road and stock XJ parts suppliers
>good legal places to go wheeling
>best junkyards
>any local/regional jeep, off-road, or overland events
>anything else cool about owning an XJ and living in the area

Any info will be appreciated Or just send me a PM if you live in the area and you want to connect.

Welcome to NC,

Charlotte is pretty big...

I lived in the university area for 7 years.

Pull a Part is on hwy 49, good place to get parts
About a quarter mile from it is Tar Heel 4wd

For wheeling Uwharrie is less than an hour drive from the university.
