lift problems?
i have a 1995 ZJ and its 2wd (i know a lift doesnt belong on a 2wd) im making it for a trail truck problem is, i put a 3 inch budget boost on and at 45 mph i got the DW well i called up a bunch of off road places and some seemed fine giving me and answer and i actually had one to laugh and hang up. But what i did find out is that 2 of the places i called said i needed control arms to correct the DW.
I've already replaced the track bar, but i dont have control arms on my jeep. Would i have to replace the axle to fix the problem or just keep the stock height, its stupid but i still have the 3" in the rear so its sitting reverse carolina squat. |
You have no control arms on your Jeep at this time? Tell me your not driving around like that..

Are you sure you're not referring to the sway bars? I don't see how your jeep could move an inch without control arms.

I don't see why I'm getting the wobble at 45 if everything is there though

Because something is either worn out, badly adjusted, or imbalanced. If you didn't have everything there, you wouldn't make it to 45 (except the sway bar, but that wouldn't cause your problem)

Alright ill just change everything out then
Replace your tie rod ends (I recommend the upgrade to the V8 ZJ steering) Get an adjustable trac bar or at the very least, re-drill the hole for it about 1/2" over and replace the axle-side bushing. Replace the UCA bushings Get extended LCAs or at the very least replace the LCA bushings Make sure your tires are balanced Make sure your alignment is correct Make sure your steering gearbox is tight to the frame (not really the cause of DW, but still important) Once you do all of these things, you'll be much happier with the way it drives. |
