shenanigans. Next youll tell me that my duct tape tail lights are wrong. The one has several inches of water in it, when i reverse its like a pool light. Super cool and nobody else has one.

laws be up to interpretation like that, though. Rearview mirrors could be anything....

That article confirms what I said. And your tail light, duct tape on the translucent portion is not legal, tape repairs need to be made with color appropriate translucent tape to allow light through. Also, water in the light fails inspection as well, as it secretly sirens the lifespan of light bulbs.

Fun day diagnosing a headlight problem. The other night, my passenger side headlight went dim. I read a common problem is usually the plug. Alright, no big deal...

So I remove the passenger side light, and notice some corrosion/rust on the 3 metal prongs for the bulb. I clean them up, reconnect, turn my headlights on. Same result.

Okay, let's see if it does the same thing for the driver's side bulb. I remove it, plug it into the passenger side. Works fine. Alright, at this point, I am thinking bulb.

I plug the "problem bulb" into the driver's side plug and it works fine.

It's a jeep, do you expect things to be easy or make any sense at all?

Where is that headlight circuit grounded? Either that or wiring that "corrected" itself when you jiggled it.

Not sure, I would assume that it's still in the stock location. PO said he relayed the lights but I do not see a harness. I took Jakes advice and just kept connecting and disconnecting the bulb and it works fine now. At least until it corrodes again

Might as well keep it. You won't get much selling it and it's not like it's costing you anything besides insurance to keep it that is if you have the space. And it's always good to have an extra vehicle just in case
