I have a waggy 44 in the rear of my heep and had to get spacers because on hard turns the flexy 35 sidewalls rubbed the leafs. Centering the axle is easy, measure center point to center point of factory perches, then measure the 8.8 width from flange to flange, subtract the first measurement from the last, divide by 2, and measure in from flange for new perch center.

Ex: (these are random bs numbers)

Factory perch center to center width- 40"
8.8 flange to flange width- 55"

55-40=15
15/2= 7.5"
So you would measure in 7.5"from the flange in both sides for your perch center.

You should know how to do that already man haha

Lol yeah I know how to do it. That's why I asked for TIPS on doing it, not a complete how-to instructions lol.

Hibernation sounds good about now! Lots of OT at work with all the old guys hunting or retiring. You know how it goes, two leave none replaced.

That, and I've decided to tear the jeep down again.

I'm a one man band at work, so you can't ***** about that haha. I'm building a new bumper for mine currently and will be installing my cage after that. What you tearing it down for?

XJwonders 12-16-2013 08:14 AM

You own your own shop?

I own my own business, but not shop..... yet lol. I'm a "sub contractor". and I already have boat sides, so don't need to make sliders. But how much you want?

XJwonders 12-16-2013 08:21 AM

I would trade them for 2x3 tubing. My jeep is getting too heavy with the armor I keep putting on it lol. 2x6 is too heavy, so...

Oh I'll ***** alright, lol. Redoing the suspension. A full Clayton three link with rear coil conversion replacing the current stuff which is going onto the Comanche. And arbs installed. Zak at AtoZ fab is doing the work this time. No more having to warranting my own work on the XJ, this was Jess' choice, she's taken over the whole build on it. Plus this gives me time and room to finish the MJ trailer and finish stripping down the MJ for powder coating.

XJwonders 12-16-2013 08:30 AM

What good are you!?!? Lol just kidding

Next time I run to the steel yard, I can grab some 2x3 to trade for you. I'm heading there before Christmas I hope.

No rush on it. I don't plan on building sliders until like January-February after I finish my long arm installation
