That's what I was wanting to hear! Hahaha. But you don't need to write a chapter on this, but seeing that y'all have had this land, I'm assuming you grew up this way?

yea my parents bought it 22years ago and I'm 17... Turn 18 sept 10!!! My dad grew up with a non existing dad and non caring mom so he had to learn to work and get tough fast! So he grew up working hard and it payed off for him. Now my parents have owned a radiator shop where he specialises in heat/cooling and a/c and also has mechanics that do 100% regular auto repair and they are doing very well since most of His customers have been loyal for the last 25 years. And he has the perfect lifestyle at home for him.

also, I know my life style is different from alot of people but contrary to popular believe, it's seems easier to me. I couldnt imagine spending 150 bucks a weeks on grocerys or paying thousands of dollars for heating fuel and working my *** off for this stuff. If you do it yourself, costs are so much less so the more I can save or spend. obviously we still go grocery shopping but we never enter the produce section and rarely enter meats and crap easily save 50$ a week in that sense which adds up quick! And saving 1000$ a winter(or whatever it costs for oil for a 60x40 2 story house and a 80x50 2 story garage/barn. we pay for gas for the tractor and chainsaw. And that's it! But I guess growing up like this, it is normal for me and if the world does go too hell, I have guns and food if any of you CF's need some help

Something I would look into maybe, but it seems like your all squared away, is an oil burner. You have the tractor the jeep and I'm assuming some other vehicles that need oil changes. What this does is burn up that burned up oil and turn it into heat. Just maybe something to do with your crap oil thats environmentally friendly.

If your talking like a waste oil burner, that's what my dad uses to heat the radiator shop. when they do an oil change, in the heater it goes all summer long. Dirty gas, hydraulic fluid, any petroleum based fluids that burn. And the local resturaunts are happy to give us French fry oil since they'd have to pay to get rid of it any how. But yea a huge steel garage with the 3 doors open all the time is unrealistic to heat in a Maine winter without one. other garages are like 50 degrees with a diesel(home heating oil) burner doing all it can to keep up 24/7 and that's pricy. for at home, wood heats the whole house all year, the barn only needs to be like 50 so thats oil for now. but were in the process of going solar hot water/heat and eventually electric solar but heat/hot water is more important at this moment in time.

Also many people in this area with so much wood available use outside wood burners. even if they have to pay 180$ a cord for green wood it still does hot water and heat for a average sized 2 story home no problem and if you use scrap wood or cut your own, u save even
More. it has a pretty large burner so you can burn small stumps, board trimmings from building stuff, and what ever else you can find cheap on craiglust made out of wood( old burrows, rocking chairs, you name it lol)
