Nepaug State Forest Ride pics from 4/22/13
 

Took a ride up to the Nepaug State Forest today in New Hartford CT. Spent about 1:30 on the trails and we had a blast. Upon entering the trails i encountered a DEP officer hanging out in his truck and was assured that its completely legal to drive the MARKED trails but was informed if i went down the off shoots that people made i would be ticketed. Saw a few others along the way but wasnt much.

Looking up from the same spot. goes around the bend there and about another 40-50 yards then levels off.

Definitely a lot of safe fun. Im about 15 mins away so it will definitely be a place i explore further. If anyone is planning on going or would like to join let me know

What's the address to the entrance??

Ramp Rd canton ct. if you are coming from traffic light at the bottom of the hill ( where Ocean State Job Lot is) you are gunna go up the hill, make your first right and a quick left. there is a nursery on the corner and the town dump is down there. if you keep going straight at the end it turns into hard packed dirt. id say about 3/4 mile down (if that) there is an open gate on your left.... there ya go.

OR

if you are coming from torrington side you can get in just after steele rd on 202. you pass the baseball fields on your left (steele rd) and just after it you will see a small blue oval sign. i dont remember what it says exactly but its Tux.... Trail.

both entrances connect. there is some very very mild dirt road, sandy roads but then there is also some cool **** where you will actually need to eye it out and choose your lines
