That's the slider I was trying to find earlier. I like the combination of square tubing and smaller diameter hoop. Same style I want for my bumper:

I think it's a one-off from Detours. It's on their website on a customer's rig.

Detours makes some great stuff, it's a shame he's so back logged with orders and he had to stop offering the tailbone.

The Tailbone was his rear tire carrier/recovery setup that used the stock bumper.

Personally I don't like the sliders that extend below the rockers. Just from the number of times I've come really close to scraping my rockers on rocks I'd definitely want sliders that replace the rockers - high and tight.

These are my favorite: http://www.jeepforum.com/forum/f11/t...ml#post5107992

also these are good http://www.pirate4x4.com/tech/billav...rs/rockers.htm

I go thru TIA training every 2 years. They set all the guidelines for the tire industry. I'd be curious what company is going to train you and what they tell you. There is not much to torquing other than a good wrench that is tested and calibrated. Car manufactures set the spec for the vehicles. We have a torque chart that is updated every year as a quick guide for each vehicle. TIA creates the chart.

First column is the year second is the torque range. I recommend torquing to the highest. From the chart a 94-01 XJ has a range of 85-115. I torque mine to 115.

once again...that's not a range. It's progressive.

Let me know what your list says. It's an '01 so it should be same as your '98.
It's between 85-115. I recommend 115. A 94 is 75 I think. I posted a picture of the chart we use.

We are getting trained on torquing steam fittings. My original training on torque was back in 84 when I was in the USAF, and I pretty much go with that...

I put mud terrains on for Saturday. Does anyone drive these as a DD? How do they wear? Mine is not a DD but I like to bring it to work (25miles one way) to hit some stuff after work or on my lunch break. I'm worried about them wearing funny.

not so much on the pirate..

i think its cause its tucked so close to the body, boxed tube vs open and its functional as a air tank as well

I run M/Ts on my daily driver without issue. Keep the pressure correct so you get full tread contact and you'll be fine. I run my 235/75s at 32-34 psi on the road and they wear perfectly.
