to prevent the bolts from crushing the frame when you torque them down. Keeps the box nice and tight against the metal so the load gets spread evenly. Very disappointed the JCR one doesn't have those.

possibly picking up another OEM gas tank skid plate on the 25th for a pre-97 XJ (metal tank) - who's interested?

yea that's definitely why she has bump steer
honestly, what I think happened with the previous owner is they bought an over-the-knuckle steering kit, but didn't install it that way - looking at it the easiest way to fix the steering issue would be to ream the knuckle hole out, and flip the tie rod to the top like it's supposed to be. You can use a reamer tool, or drill it out and tack in tapered sleeves. I can find a link to some if you want.

If the tie rod isn't toast, I still say finish it up as OTK and get the upper link.... or go ZJ Tie rod and stock drag link...
