No tag needed at c&d as its not a state park. Just need to find out if you can even get in to the area anymore.

You can still drive around the canal area - I wouldn't necessarily call it 'wheeling' - but at least a place to get off-pavement. The trails on the Chesapeake City, MD side were all closed for maintanence, but there is an entrance off of Frenchtown Rd, that I've gone into. I haven't been back there for a few months, though.

I'm putting a new radiator, water pump and probably thermostat in soon, so once that's done, if a meet-up gains some traction, I'll be interested.

Lol and the talk begins

For surf, do you guys have pole mounts on the vehicle or do you post them into the ground closer to the water?

Just sent a note to DENERC to see if they can lead us in the right direction.
O K, Herd back from a Mike Moyer (DNREC) He says Div of Fish & Wildlife has control over that area. I'll try and find something out from them. Mike said there are trails there that are useable on the upper road. ?? , but not sure where they are.

I looked on the Yahoo map of the area and it seems there are a lot of roads that run parallel to each other. I may not get any info till Tuesday, I'm going through there in the morning and won't be back till Monday night.

Little cool right now for trail riding!!

Thanks for doing that HappyPappy! Way to cold right now. I havnt been on any trails yet so something simple and just getting my feet wet is perfect for me. I need to do a few things as well before I'm ready.

Just got off the phone with the manager of that area, no permit required, must stay on marked roads (dirt), There are maps on the F &W site, I can't enlarge them and print them, there not very good. I'm going to stop at the Div of Fish & Wildlife in Dover Monday and pick up some maps of the trails. Who knows, maybe we can all get together some Sunday afternoon.

Well that's cool info to know. I always thought you go at your own risk of a ticket no matter what, but I can see if your out busting donuts tearing stuff up. Well gonna start getting my lift on tonight at least get the rear done tonight. Also me and a friend of mine who has a tj were talking about ridding out to red cloud this late spring see I we can get a group to ride over there.

I won't be getting my lift and tires on until this spring. Getting impatient.

If you look on Google Earth at the canal you can see the trails and vehicles parked at certain locations. A nice Sunday ride for sure.

Where/What is red cloud?

Also for those interested, Delaware Jeep Association does organized trail rides at Rausch Creek.
