Central PA trails, OTHER than Rausch Creek?
Don't get me wrong, Rausch is awesome. I'm just wondering if anyone knows of any alternatives in the central/south-central PA area, or even as far as in to northern MDor WV? In my searching, I've only found 2 or 3 total parks in the entire state that allow fullsize wheeling, period. Are there any open trails on public ground, mountain roads, state parks, Appalachian trail, etc?

As far as public land, Michaux State Forest offers a maze of mountainy backroads that are fun to explore, but it's public land and you shouldn't be wheeling anything crazy there. Again, the most important thing is to be respectful about it. |

There's Trails Rd. in Delta, PA. The locals can sometimes give you a hassle though. The one local guy down there is cool about it if you are respectful and stay out of the creek, and throw him some cash if he catches you down there. He won't care at all if you even help him out with cleanup, etc. The most important thing here is to stay out of the creeks.

Anyone up for a trip to Bald Eagle?

I'm interested to know more about it! I've never been there, but I'm quite familiar with Michaux.

Michaux sounds pretty cool, actually. What are the trails like? If other central PA guys are making a run over there sometime I'd love to join if I'm free. In fact, I may have accidently been there before in my old Bronco when I was in college at Shippensburg 10 years ago...
As for Bald Eagle, everything I've read is that they just have trails for ATV's and bikes. If there's OHV trails, too, that would be awesome. |
