Hi everyone, my name is Alex and i'm looking to buy a 4x4 xj in Florida. i live in SW Fl. so in that area would be great. White with grey interior, power windows and locks would be even better. a/c is a must. looking for a 97+. i have cash and am looking to buy asap.

From SWFL too, Estero/Fort Myers area.

You'll find basically a few levels of XJ's around here, just really comes down to what kind of budget you're looking to stay around. You're probably gonna have better luck cruising the local Auto Trader or Craigslist.

My biggest piece of advice - no picture, dont rule it out.

I purchased another XJ of mine a few years ago, sight unseen on Craigslist up in Sarasota. Best vehicle I've ever owned. It was a 97 police package, got it with low miles for dirt cheap.

I dived to orlando with a f350 dually and a big *** trailer cause third guy said the jeep was super clean and it was a total pos. Dived to sarasota yesterday to look at one and out market ran on top of it was crashed in the front. It has not gone well so far.

I'm looking to spend under 4 grand.

I doubt that you have offended me on there as I don't post on there often. My screen name on there is fmystreetracer. I also have a street legal dirt bike so you may have seen me out in the woods before as well. Doing to look st a few older jeeps today. I really want a 97 up though.ps please excuse my spelling, I'm on my cellphone using swype.

i don't really know much about what's done to it. i'm finding little by little out on my own.

so far i know it's a 97 cherokee se, 4.0, auto, 4wd. 2.5" ish lift, 09 wrangler shocks front and rear. it looks, runs good. i did a lof, front and rear diff servicem trans service, and t-case service today at work. trans fluid was nasty.

it's my daily driver now, so far so good. it needs a lot of electrical work....all in good time i guess.

Sweet Jeep Man. Welcome to the forum. I live in near Tampa and drive a white 2 dr with gray interior and air conditioning. Its an SE though no power anything. I like the one you bought though. Not a huge fan of the pinstripe thing but otherwise its really cool.

Also in the picture it looks a bit pink. Maybe it is just that camera though.

mine is a se as well. the color is "Flat Camel Tan", it was a krylon touch paint job. it looks as good in person as it does in the pictures. the guy spent 2 1/2 weeks painting it. i'm going to try to get it into the body shop in the next couple weeks for a coat of flat clear to be applied.

tomorrow i am going to get the exhaust hanger re-welded on the cross-member, put new front pads, calipers, rotors, rear shoes, wheel cylinders, cut drums, , new sway bar bushings, link bushings, and install quick disconnect links.

next week the wiring begins. first with a new cd player and we'll see what i have tiome for after that.
