The browser has the pop-up ads just like the full desktop. Only way to not get ads on full desktop is to be a supporting member. Other than that, the ads is what keeps the site running just like tv commercials. I k ow it sucks but it's out of the Staffs hands. Now with the app, there are no ads.

I'm normally on the browser often because it's easier for me to view pages and pics...
But I remember reading a while back that it was $25? To be a supporting member and get a sticker and a 1 year subscription...no?

Yes, just like every website. Either it's paid with by Supporting member fees (20 a year), Advertisments (Mobile browser and Desktop) or a combination of both. You don't have to pay to use the app or site at all for the record. Its just of people want less ads, then there need to be more supporters to offset the sites yearly cost.
