I'll go ahead and mention it again. A bunch of guys are going to be at Gulches October 11th. There will be rigs from stock to heavily built so all are welcome. Just show up and look for all the XJ's.

With all this rain Gulches will probably be closed down for a little while. Make sure you call Skip before you make the trip down.

I'd love to go as soon as this weather clears up.

Yeah it's been closed the past few weekends (he has a report on his website that he updates every week) and I would like to go on a week when it's been dry a while. Seems like if it's still wet all you're doing is trying not to slide into trees.

That's the fun part.

Sometimes, if it's not too bad, Skip will let us local folks in even though he says he's closed. Just just doesn't want a huge crowd.

Well my jeep is still nice so I don't like the idea of sliding into a tree haha. Still my daily driver with only a couple door dings. I had fun when I went last time, there was only a small spot of mud that we had to go through to get where we wanted to go. Basically bone dry. I found out a few problems I had: not enough clearance (took off transfercase drop, and added half and inch in the rear), needed bumpstops (fixed that) and wanted more traction (locker fixed that) so now I feel like I'm ready for round 2.

Ah.

Wheeling with dents is more fun than being careful. Either way. Maybe over Thanksgiving break or something.

I'm sure it's more fun but I like it being nice. It's so conflicting. I only have money for one vehicle so I'll just try and keep it nice for now.

I was about to say. That's why I have 2. 1 that I drive and one that I wheel.

Some pictures of my jeep. One on shipwreck, I think one on twister sister and one at a church parking lot.

Anyone have any jeeping friends or jeep get togethers in the upstate around Greenville area? For such an offroad state doesn't seem to have that much jeep activity that I've seen. Also anyone know how to regear or know a good place to regear that doesn't cost an arm and leg. I think I want to go 3.55 to 4.56 but gotta find out what kind of prices to expect so I can save.

I'm in Belton bout 30min from both Anderson and Greenville. There are only a couple of places for free in my aera, but you can't act stupid they are for river access and not "wheeling" keep a rod in the rig and don't act a fool and you can have some good fun. Don't know of anyone that does gears for cheap. I helped my buddy do his WJ as long as you follow directions and check tolerances it's not all that bad. Soon as I get my sliders and rear bumper on I'd definitely be up for a gulches Trip.
