Northwest Georgia Junkyards

Hey everyone. I'm looking for a junkyard in the NW GA area that may have parts for a '90 XJ. I've been to and walked through most of the ones in Chattanooga (closest city) with no luck. I had heard that there was a Jeep junkyard in Chatsworth and possibly one in Alabama. Can anyone confirm this or maybe name a few others that I could try?

Thanks!

Bohannons in Fort'o is where i have gotten several things including the NBS Chevy seats for my dads 74 k5 (im tempted to see if they'll fit in the xj but they have built in seat belts) the only other ones that i know of are in knoxville and Atlanta.

off topic but your last name isn't stacks is it? (i say hoping not...)

nah, stoker.

i've been to both Bohannon's but neither of them have anything older than a '94. i've also been to the ones on Hooker Rd. in Chattanooga but with limited success.

22 year old jeeps are getting hard to find parts for.

Parts should be about the same, what do you need?

benstoker 03-15-2012 09:45 AM

Transfer case at the moment but front seats are next. Spicers in Rock Spring, GA might have the TC I need though.

OnAll4s 03-15-2012 09:51 AM

A few down here in Atlanta. 2 within 5 miles of me. If you need something, let me know.

Any xj transfer case will work, as long as you get the same case you have now, if you have a 231 get a 231, if you have a 242 get a 242 and try to get a post 1987 one cause they are easier to put an sue in.

Sue=sye without auto correct on... Lol

I thought the post-1990 transfer cases had a different spline count on the input shaft...

benstoker 03-17-2012 04:23 PM

@OnAll4s - Thanks chief. Do you know the names of any of those and what their phone numbers might be?

Thanks for the info on pull-a-part, man. I'm looking for manual front seats. The motors in my electric ones are fubar.

@bhennessee1 - why are post-1987 TCs easier to put SYEs in them?

OnAll4s 03-17-2012 09:49 PM

See if you find any years you need and send me a list of info:

Make
Model
Year
Row number
And what type( cloth? Leather?)
And I will run over and check em for ya... It cost a dollar a day to get in, but I got that.

I really appreciate the offer man but I'm going to be in ATL next weekend so I'll run by then. That place sounds pretty awesome.

Hit me up when you go, I have a few things I need to look for too

in 87 and older you have to press the bearings out of the gears to put them on the nwe main shaft.

benstoker 03-18-2012 09:37 AM

@OnAll4s - definitely will do.

@bhennessee1 - that just sounds like so much fun.
