New to Cherokees: First Car
Hey guys. I just got a 96 Cherokee Country with a 6 inch lift and 35 inch tires for my first car. Anything I should know? Thanks. Glad to be a part of the cherokee world.

Hummm, things you should know... Owning a Jeep requires lots of cash flow, mostly to the local parts supply house and aftermarket dealers. Have your own tools, don't skimp on this. Cheep tools=broken tools. Choose quality brands, SK, Craftsman, Snap-On. Well, you get the idea, buy what you can afford but don't get junk. Make friends with anyone in the auto repair industry, you never know when you may have to call in a favor. 4 wheeling isn't all standing on the skinny petal, you have to know/learn when to finesse the gas. Welcome to the Jeep Life.
Tools & patience are a virtue, not only with a Jeep but any 4x4. A Jeep makes a terrific first vehicle, just remember to keep it safe on the street, your rig obviously will react differently in emergency situations then a normal car/truck, so always keep that in mind.
As DBCooper said, offroad, it isn't always about the throttle. Learning finesse will get you through most of the time.
Bottom line above all - Have fun. Wether it's turning wrenches, crusing down the road, or going through the thick stuff, have fun, thats what it's all about.

thats something you should know right off the bat... we here at cherokeeforum believe in lots and lots of pictures lol
you will be working on your jeep a lot not because it needs it a lot but because you will want to haha
have fun be safe and dont give us wheelers a bad name so no illegal wheeling or littering up and damaging the trails because your favorite wheeling place can become a closed trail really quick
