My son is in the Chattanooga area and his 96 XJ is in a shop where the guy says it needs a complete wire harness for the motor. He found a used one but he says the 96 takes one that is different than most.

Does anyone know where we can find one to buy?

Does anyone know what years have the same harness as the 96 or where I can find out?

Any idea where a new or used one can be found? I looked on Autozone but just saw generic ones.

My son is living in a semi truck in a truck stop so any help would be appreciated.

96 is a crossover year, so if I HAD to guess I'd say that it's the only year that works. But why are you in the southeast forum?

Mechanic says the 96 is the same as one or two other years but not sure which one.

I have one out of a 98 if it'll work for ya.

Be careful... My late 96 takes a bunch of 97 sensors. If you get the wrong harness you will be stuck replacing them as well.

His mechanic "said" he sent someone to a junk yard yesterday morning to look so Aaron was waiting to hear from him but thats been the story for a couple of weeks now.

I am sure he will be calling you.

Big thanks to xjmarc for helping out! Son should have his XJ out of the shop in the next day or two and it is very cool to get help from people 2,000 miles away!

No problem. He said it was actually the right one too. He's got some injector issues he's going to handle himself now and should be good. Glad to help, like I said Jeepers are family.
