Anyone want to make a drive down (or up )here with some tools and help me out.

I am too scared to do it myself and not really wanting to buy all the tools. I can fork out some gas money and beer and food for whoever is willing.

Let me know I gots a inground pool and nice grill. Garage to work in. decent amount of handtools. No air though. Front axle is pulled and sitting in front of jeep.

Maybe if you get some help from someone who knows what they are doing then you can come up here and show me how to do it! I get nervous when I hear gear install.

Here's the thing... It's nowhere near as difficult as everyone makes it out to be.

Download this article.

http://billavista.com/tech/Articles/...ble/index.html

Take it to your nearest copy place.

Have it bound and covered.

Read it.

Learn it.

Be it.

--------------------------

Buy a dial indicator and in/lb torque wrench off of ebay and buy a cheap set of carrier bearings to use for set-up.

Take your time. Double check everything.

Post up pictures of your pattern and I'll tell you exactly where you need to go from there.

Run 50 patterns if you have to.

It's cake. Don't be so pessimistic.

I have had that saved for a bit. Thanks but that is a last resort. I don't really want to buy all the tools for it.

I have no more than 75 bucks in the tools to do it... You'd pay triple that to have someone do it.

What's scary about it? As long as the pattern is right you're good to go.

Can't forget the torque wrench. Overtighten the bearing caps and the bearing wont last long.

That's not what that torque wrench is for.

That torque wrench is for setting pinion bearing preload.

I can't imagine using a 0 30in/lb torque wrench for any 3/4 drive application. Sounds more like a 200+ Ft/lb torque wrench for 3/4 drive?

Nevermind my previous post I seen in the Pictures.

I still need a big torque wrench but a small one is for preload.

How about this one?

CF has been cutting my links off short lately...

http://www.tooltopia.com/kd-tools-29...aign=nextag_r1

Edit: strange. The first time I clicked the Amazon link it didn't work. The second time I clicked it she worked fine.
