Default fuel ratio

My 90 2.5L xj is just really boging down and osillating really bad. i think its because i am getting too much fuel.. its probably a sensor but i can't track down which one it would be without tools i don't have lol. but if my guesses are correct its gonna be my MAP sensor. I saw a blog online about how to modify one to make it controllable from the interior on command which is sweet but i don't wanna do all that for nothing if its my TPS or CPS or O2 sensors u know.

If you can drive to discount you can use one of there handheld diagnostic tool and it will pinpoint what it is

I can drive it up there but it wouldn't do any good its a 1990. its pre OBD II so it won't tell the diagnostic machine anything even if they could hook it up to the jeep. but good idea, keep em' coming i can always use the extra thoughts. I am gonna work on it hopefully this weekend and swap out the MAP and tighten down the exhaust manifold bolts... i know xjs have a big problem with those bolts working themselves loose and if that fixes the issue i am gonna go get another gasket and put locktight on em' to keep them from backing out ... or maybe just locking washers, havn't decided yet

I know one thing that helped mine out a ton was taking the throttle body assy off and cleaning it out real good. Try that, and or a tps sensor sounds about right

What's up guys, I know this post is a little old, but I just got my XJ, Took it to 5A on Saturday and it tore it up! I am always looking for new places to wheel and people to wheel with. Got a few Jeep buddies but could always use more! Just need to fix the same problem as 90xjowner, mines bogging and cutting off as well.

Here's a shot from 5A

Hey guys, it has been awhile, I finally figured out what my problem is on mine atleast. I dropped the gas tank to find that the tube connecting the fuel gauge assembly to the pump wasn't on all the way and was riddled with holes. I replaced it, runs great, but since then I sold it to a friend who wanted to drop a 360 in it and throw it up on 35s its looking pretty good. But with that being said I don't have my xj anymore

where do you go wheelin in Eustis? That is were I live and it gets harder to find a spot every day. They have closed down so much of the forest.
