MidSouth Jeep Club is based in Memphis if you want some folks to hang out with: MidsouthJeeps.com The homepage is a little dated but most people keep up with events via the forums anyway http://midsouthjeeps.com/forums/index.php I'm BJW3'sLady there. A couple more members on this board are also MSJ members.
there is a club meeting next weekend at Landers Jeep in Southaven if you wanna meet some folks and see some nice rigs for inspiration.

what kit? Most of us are hardcore do-it-yourselfers and we have install parties all the time to work on people's rigs. We only meet @ Landers because they are a club sponsor, who doesn't mind making room for 30+ Jeeps to park at the front of their lot every couple of months, plus give us a dedicated meeting space inside. We're shopping around for another dealer to sponsor us if Landers doesn't re-up, so the meetings might very well be moved somewhere else for next year.

where are you at in Memphis? I can probably find someone nearby who can take a look at it. They don't even ask for money to work on stuff, just a thank-you and possibly lunch and/or beer, as long as you have the right parts to fix it, it'll get fixed.

im in collierville, and im a member in midsouth jeep club also.
theres a bunch of xjs around here... just went out to walgreens earlier and saw 3 lifted xjs alone. i followed one, waved at another, and one was parked.
but you should seriously think about joining, its a pretty sweet club.
