Yep I went out on Saturday. It was cool and never had an issue. There was a lot of water tho so that pic must have been before the hurricane. It was mostly sugar sand too but again never missed a beat. It was fun to just plow through it all.
I wasn't really planning on taking the donor jeep out a lot but I may go again a couple more times before the teardown. It was pretty clunky too and sounded like the front axel was going to fall out. So I'll need to be careful and not break out there.

Basically we had to either stay on designated trails or run a very high risk of fine, impound, and being used as evidence to close down more trails in our state.

Tresspassing is enforced (If posted) so can't really go wherever you please. Good news is in FL, there are various WMA's (Wildlife Management Areas) that allow off-road access.

If you're rolling down the road, come across an area that isn't marked as a WMA or Forest service road, with no trespassing sign, are you at risk for retaliation (aside from the land owner) with the local authorities?

Just depends on if it's private property or bonafied government property. If it's not clearly marked as Gov't property, "ignorance of the law isn't an excuse for breaking the law" generally winds up being the rule. If it's private property, you can't get "in trouble" with the law if the land owner doesn't press charges. Generally the first trespassing offense, you're issued a trespass warning and issued a "warrant" stating you're not allowed at that particular property. If you then trespass again after being issued the warrant, you can then be arrested and your vehicle towed to a rotation tow yard.
There's some grey areas though as to the trespassing laws on private property. Some will tell you "the landowner has to be present" to enforce trespassing violations, some will say "if there's no signs posted, it's null and void" which - I don't know if that would fly in court.
Just be careful.... for the most part, we do support and follow Tread Lightly practices, but everyone knows about places that are "abandoned land" that law enforcement will, for the most part, turn a blind eye to.
Speaking of signs and trespassing... I marked my original pic with were we saw signs and where we didn't. The spots with signs are off the map a little but that's the vicinity. And they were like County No Trespassing signs.
They were also near houses. I'm not sure if they just don't want people cutting close to someone's house? I mean, the area is very worn in and it looks like there's a lot of traffic through it.

This is all very interesting to me. Just different political climate down here, which is great.
As a "youngster" in my full-size Bronco I ventured down many many dirt roads on all types of land and then our state went through a massive political battle over money (like tens of millions of dollars) that had been paid into offroad trail use/maintenance being "adjusted" for state parks and such (no offroad use authorized). So then the legal battle began and in the PNW "tree huger" is a thing of pride...so folks who hit the trails began getting slammed left and right for abusing the land. Some rightfully so, others not so much...but in the end it turned the entire state against the offroad community so going "off trail" was out of the question if you wanted to keep any trails open and avoid legal action.
I bought a 2wd 2001 Cherokee, the lady i got it from could not afford to spend the extra cash to freshen up the tranny after replacing the engine. so it lasted a week behind the new engine… also got the 3 year 100k warranty. she spent almost 7k on New engine, cooling & Ac system. I got it for 3500

So where did you get that white cherokee from?.. that was my first jeep, bought it when i lived in Indiana in 2011, I needed something to drive in snow.. Sold it in Deland Oct 2016 . it was in one piece when i sold it... interior was clean and perfect condition, i did those tweeters in the door panel.. under it was rusty as F

That's crazy! I bought it from a dude in New Smyrna. Once I get the drivetrain out of it I'll probably part some stuff out. Whatever isn't needed for the conversion.
