I've got a 4.0L that came out of a '95 Jeep XJ with a tranny thats 2wd. the motor has been rebuilt with around 60-80,000 miles. It ran top notch when i pulled it out. How much do ya'll think would be reasonable to ask for it?

I didn't have the motor rebuilt it just has a rebuild date on the side of the block. I had originally bought it for a parts jeep.

Another question: will the transfer case on my 2000 XJ bolt on the 2wd tranny from the '94?

Im not positive but i think you have to have a tranny thats ready for a TC and the 2wd trans wont work.

Nope. You would have to swap the output from a 4wd tranny onto the 2wd one. Lot of work for a fairly cheap and easy to find tranny.
