Anyone on here from up there. Might be making the move up with within the next year or sooner.

Where you located at up there? I'd be between houghton and marquette

In Marquette, where abouts do you consider In between? I actually just made the trip through houghton to calumet yesterday for some parts and tires for another new "project" lol.

L'Anse is the middle point IMO

Where do you go wheeling at up there or is it mostly mud pits and what not

Yeah that's pretty middle, the terrain around here is pretty rounded, there's some of everything to be found lol, key is knowing someone to direct or show you what's where, as there's a ton of trails and back roads up here, mostly where I go though are trails I used to go dirt biking in when I was a kid as I dont have a secondary vehicle to go with me.

Tons of stuff to be found here though, I just havnt found the right timing and people to show me more than stuff I'm already familiar with, and as I'm sure you're aware wheeling and exploring alone is kinda nuts lol, especially up here, you never know what you're gonna drive into.

One of the areas Im hoping to be able to check out in my area is referred to as the sands plains, I was pretty bummed as I had a chance to at the beginning of summer with the nmu trail cats club and didn't have my tow points on in time.

I know they have some videos on YouTube of that area if you're interested in doing a search.

What type of vehicles do most people wheel with up there.

You'll see everything lmao, it's ridiculous the things you see from time to time, I guess the big ones are pretty standard though jeeps, toyotas, ford/Chevy/dodge trucks, (large year and model range for all of them).

Between the general surroundings and snow there's lots of capable vehicles around.

That's about what I was thinking lol. Also like what I always tell people when describing the UP it's a different world there.

That's probably the best way to describe it lol.

What tires most of your guys run

Tires like most places is a subjective item that really depends on what you're using your rig for, but the two main qualitys in tires here is (at least in my experience) 1: can it handle mud? 2: can it handle snow and ice?. Usually if you meet those two conditions you're pretty well rounded for some sand and rocks as well.

Of course personal preference and Terrain ( ex. You specifically run mud drags or only cruise in sand pits, ect...)choice could alter that into something totally different...

My personal view in general: I don't care what conditions are, nor do I care what the terrain is, if I want to go I need to be able to, for reasons of fun or need without worry of breakage. That applies not ony to my tire theory, but part choices as well.

I run goodyear wrangler duratrac tires and they did great in the mud, snow, ice, rain, and dry pavement. Haven't run them in sand.

Is stock at the moment my plan is to lift it 3" to start, in the next weeks ill buying the kit, any advice? for DIY project

Kragar steel rim with 31 tires.

I am fixing some minor stuff atm, like replacing a noise power steering pump, have to take a look on the clutch as well is about time to replaced. (for this ill take it to the shop)

getting some cosmetics fixes inside the car, also i am looking for a new driver (replacement seat)
