I'm running 31's on stock suspension and that wouldn't do too well at the mounds.

Just picked up this 2001 classic. Planning on a mild lift and exterior mods. I want to keep the somewhat stock look. From the Millington area.

^^^ Clean looking platform to work with.

Please do us a favor and give the cooling system a good check and make sure everything is up to par and the coolant is nice and green. Unfortunately (and I don't mean to scare you) 2000 & 2001 XJ's are notorious for getting a crack in the cylinder head between cylinders 3 & 4 (known defect that Chrysler didn't do anything about).

Not saying this is the case for you, but unfortunately it is the case for many. If everything is nice, and you're not "mysteriously" loosing coolant, upgrade the cooling system as soon as possible to help prevent the crack from ever happening.

Good luck!

I was aware of that problem when i bought it i was looking hard for a clean 99 but with my luck i never found anything worth jumping at. So far so good on everything today marks a week of driving it. Coolant is green still a little early to tell if its leaking but so far havnt seen anything. As far as cooling system upgrades what's out there that will show good results? Is there any pre-2000-01 heads that will fill a 01 motor?

Any 91+ head will work, but early ones won't have bosses to mount the coil packs.
Iirc 02+ TUPY 0331 heads are fine, And will have the mounting bosses.

If this is going to be more than a couple posts you should start a thread in the tech section.

agreed. Tupy heads are the better choice.

That blue XJ looks like the one my uncle sold a couple months ago. Be funny if it was. It was an odd limited as it had a classic interior. I think they ran out of parts at the end.
