Anyone near the Northwest Suburbs willing to help with a front coil install? Or have a press I could pay you to use? Heck, I'd be willing to drive a while for some help... I don't have a garage and it's a bit cold to swap my coil springs outside with my crappy bottle jack.
I'd pay for help, I have the new springs, heavy duty compressors installed on them, just need a lift, a crowbar and some warm garage space!

if you weren't 5 hours away I'd help. I did a 2 inch puck install and shackle relocation in a day. Includes the runs to the hardware store and time with a torch cutting the old leafs off.

I'm buying new tires for my jeep next week. I have a set of BigO 31" all terrains on 2001 Ecco wheels. Good shape. Good tread. I'll send you a pic tomorrow if you're interested. I'm in Belleville just east of St. Louis.

New here !
New to the site, picked up a 1998 Xj about a week ago. So far have replaced parts to get her back on the road. New rear drums, shoes, springs and break lines, plugs, wires, distributer, rotor, coil, new sway bar links as the one on there were rusted off, led headlights, new air box, needed a new head light switch and front washer pump. Plan on putting a 4.5 inch lift in the near future with 32" tires, cut fenders and new fender flares to start. It all get addicting as things progress.

It's mine I run with ares fab. Unless your stock cable is broken I wouldnt bother. I only went to pins because of my bracket breaking off in the kick panel and it being a trail rig that gets the hood opened alot.

I was considering just the opposite. I just bought a 2000 XJ with a bad head. I was wondering if the head from my 1994 would work on it. I just went to Advance Auto and with credits, I think I paid around $350 for a rebuilt.
