Cliff's Insane Terrian in Maresellies, IL. is the next closest thing. Right off I-80. www.cliffsinsaneterrain.com

Rebird would be further south than the Badlands to you though.

badlands takes me 3hrs flat to get to from the wi, il border. and it is worth every second. seems to me the cliffs is a ton of mud, i personally don't enjoy the mud like i did when i was a teenager.

being in indiana already aren't you closer to the badlands? i've never been to the cliffs, but i do know the badlands and there's enough for you to do in a stock jeep there. although i just got some nice body damage there on my daily driver.

here's some pics:

I never got the name of it, but there's a place over by the IL River in Seneca. We were going to goof off on the boat and there were a million TJ's and stuff all heading to a park they have over there. I'm not sure if it's listed as Seneca or Marseilles.
