Any Diesel XJ Owners In Ohio?
 

Hello all,

I recently picked up a factory/stock 2.1 Renault turbo-diesel Cherokee Pioneer. It looks good sitting next to my Liberty CRD (also diesel for those of you not familiar). The body could use paint, but is solid otherwise. I'm going through the basic trouble spots on the motor and making sure everything is good before I start it. The PO had the injector pump rebuilt and didn't get the pump timed correctly when he reassembled it. Luckily, the crank/cam are timed correctly. The pump was 2 teeth off. It idled, but wouldn't produce much power.

I was just curious if there were any other diesel XJ owners in Ohio (or anywhere else) willing to help? It would be nice to have someone's brain to pick for parts, info, etc. I'm pretty well versed on older diesel engines. My father was a diesel mechanic and a great teacher. I have also owned a diesel Chevy LUV (Isuzu), diesel Toyota Corolla, and a Powerstroke F-350. This site looked like the best place to ask.
