Alternator Help
 
Hey..any guys willing to help or give me some pointers on an alternator replacement. My XJ needs some help. Alternator is a must...CEL and battery light just came on. VGC need changing, tune up, and fliuid replacement! I work 830am-1030pm Mon-Fri...weekends are golden.

Alternator is a simple job. I've had a few XJ's that required jacking up the engine an inch or so by the oil pan in order to yank the alternator out.

Been reading up on it and most are saying to pull the battery and box and remove from the top.

Even then you might have to jack the engine up a tad. Not really a big deal, just use a block of wood right on the X on the oil pan and lift it slowly.
