Totaled 99 2x4 with 105K on motor. What to do?
We have a wrecked white 99 XJ with 105K on it. Oil pan has a hole from the wreck, Transmission lines were flattened. and something is wrong with the front axle. Motor is great though other than items listed here. Front passenger 1/4 panel and bumper were wrecked. Where should I sell this to part it out? I am in Frisco, north of Dallas

There are a few things that you need to factor in... That's great that the motor was in good shape prior to the accident. But what kind of wreck was it? do you have any pics?
You have to take into account the impact of the force of the accident on the entire vehicle. You could have cracked motor mounts on the block, you could have compromised internals, how long did it run after the oil started leaking out of the pan... many questions to ask and consider. You'd have to carefully assess all of those items and then determine if it's worth the time and effort to transplant it into a donor XJ that has a good body but needs the drive-train. That's time and effort....and money if you're not doing the swap yourself.
It could be positive or negative... you just have to carefully assess before taking the next step.

i have a 99 2x4 with 346k miles on it you could swap that low mile drivetrain into and be back on the road.
(not that anything is wrong with what is in mine but just offering you an idea. ours was a daily with these miles, for my wife, till august when she got a new car)
