Default Passing thru IA, MO and KS...

I know I said this once before...but I'm heading to KS to visit family again.

I'll be traveling through Feb 28th, I'd like to meet up with some people for lunch or something.

FB or PM me or something. Or just post here.

Not sure where to meet, tho, as I'm not too familiar with the KC area.

So I'm open for suggestion. I know there is a BBQ place real close to the NASCAR track...I ate there once...

My buddy lives down the street from the race track, the shopping area next to the track is called "The Legends." Theres quite a few restaurants and things to do there. Not a lot of wheelin in KC but on the 23rd everyone is heading south to KS Rocks for Frostbite. Are you just looking for places to eat/visit or will you have a jeep with you?

Can't go wheeling, not enough cash to fuel my XJ down and back. And not enough time.

Looking for a lunch stop. I'll try and figure out the name of the bbq place...

I'm aiming for "not too far off I70" if possible.

Leaves more time to chat about Jeeps, I'm on a tight schedule.

My little brother is in the Marines. He's being shipped to Japan, and I'm going to Manhattan KS to visit him. I wanted to make a stop to visit some CF folks, but for obvious reasons my main priority is seeing him.

Hope that is understandable.

Theres a Backfire BBQ in the Legends. We could schedule a meet up. I remember they had a Jeep meet and Greet next to the legends where they had tons of Jeeps show up months back.

I'm in Manhattan if you're just looking for someone to bs with, and/or ride along or spot out at Tuttle creek if you've got time!

I grew up just outside Manhattan, between Wamego and St. George. My wife is from Wamego.

I'm getting my brothers names in ink while we're down, I'm sure we'll be hitting up a bar if your down!

Arthur Byrants gets all the rave from the food network people, but it's really not that good. If you want some really good BBQ, Oklahoma Joe's is where you need to go. It's in a gas station, and it's easily the best in KC.

Unfortunately you're coming through on a Thursday, and I work on the south end of KC so I probably won't be able to get out there, but it's worth the stop if you can make it to OK Joes.

It's about 10 minutes off of I70 south of the downtown loop. It's on like Mission and 40 something.

I'm just looking to meet up with some CF members and see some Jeeps!!

Of course my wife didn't ask if she could have off, so I'm still not sure. But I'll just go if she can't. Then the XJ WILL be with!
