Everything on mine worked perfect before the heater core change. Now I won't start but it'll crank and crank all day, just not hit the last lick to fire. Checked all my fuses, connections/grounds, switched and jumped relays. Idk. My fuel pump doesn't seem to be kicking on and my gas gauge is bottomed out

Gah, thats such a pain. I hate when i cant get things to work correctly. I hope it all works out for you guys. I ran across 2 XJs on craigslist for sale from kennet. That wasont either one of you guys was it?

Also, I've committed to a "93 XJ. 5 speed with a BB, not exactly what size tire. Its not in perfect shape, and painted in a really sketchy camo paint job. But its only 1200 and really i feel solid about starting my build there. Hopefully it all goes smooth in getting it!

wasn't mine. Mine is definitely not going anywhere even if I get another jeep. extra parts either way :D

I dd mine. I just don't trust it to go far. it has 224xxx miles on it and ticks like a deisel (granted every 4.0 I've heard sounds the same so I'm starting not to be scared by it.

but I had consistant overheating problems last summer along with just a bunch of stuff that needs to be done to mine. I have driven mine as far as dexter and poplarbluff but that's it (both about 20-25 miles from me in one way) I do drive it to work 15 miles one way every night but I'm still a little scared to take off on a trip with it. let alone wheel it and expect it to make it home.

Got her going! My aftermarket alarm was tripped somehow to thinking I was trying to steal it and shut down my fuel pump! Lol ran a hot to the relay and vroom!
That's awesome to hear! Glad we got another xj member. I've seen a few from here as well, but I'm already to stuck to mine to part! I'll be looking forward to seeing your build!
Any word on the wrangler dub?

Awesome about you getting it going! An alarm? wow mine is never even locked HAHA.. nothing worth stealing in mine.

guy was supposed to get back with me with more pics when he got off work but I never got a text. I'm not sure if I want to get ahold of him today or not. Like I was saying I could do a ton of stuff to my xj for the 12k the wrangler would cost me. It's a hard decision for sure.

I still need to see a lift in person and talk with the owner so I know about how high I want to go on mine. I'm thinking 3-4.5 and I'm wanting a rubicon express kit .. but at the same time money saved could go towards valve cover gasket and new exhaust manifold.

Lifted98XJ Mar 21, 2014 08:54 AM

Yeah man the guy before me had it on there lol it has remote start and stuff. Think I'm gonna take it off cause no need for it.
You could prolly but a couple sweet XJ's for that! Do a complete makeover on yours too tho. I have like 3.5-4 on mine. It measures 4 in the back and 3.5 in the front. You can check it out if we ever meet up! I wanna go with a 4.5-6.5 long arm tho.

I actually plan to do remote start on mine since. I hate getting off work at 7am to a freezing cold vehicle that takes forever to warm up.

I pulled a total creeper move and swung through that little strange settlement to see if I could see your jeep and saw a lifted s10 what's up with that? Haha anyways I think I saw yours (well its the only xj I saw so safe to say so) and I like the lift it has. I think I'll be more than happy with a 3.5" RE kit and maybe some 32s

Lifted98XJ Mar 21, 2014 06:36 PM

I heard that! Mine sucks my battery like none other too. Could be the HID's and stuff too. Lol.
Nice haha that guy's had it forever. Sad part is it's not the only one around here! Lol.
Coulda got out and checked it out! I prolly wasn't home but no one woulda cared lol glad I could help you in your decision! Those 33's on there were 2 did kinds btw. I picked wheels an tires up cheap and it was dark, realized it the next day that the back ones are 33's but are sized like a 35!

I've seen a silver/orange one and a blue s10 lifted as well but it's been awhile.

Lol I was just on my way back from getting groceries and figured why the hell not. After all its practically on my way home. I didn't notice the tire differences from the road but I noticed it looked like some abnormally big 33s

Lifted98XJ Mar 21, 2014 10:09 PM

Yeah there's a few here.
Yeah the ones in the back are like 1.5" taller than the front and are supposed to be same size. Lol. On 15x10's

tsteppin Mar 22, 2014 03:45 PM

This is already so much better than messing with jk forums. You guys actually get on here and post. ja

Im now back to looking for another xj, guy backed out on me on the one i was committed too or i would have bought it this morning

Lifted98XJ Mar 23, 2014 09:48 AM

Dang that sucks bud! I'll keep my eye out for some decent ones and give you a heads up! Not sure how much you're looking to drop down or why you're lookin to start with tho. As in how close to stock will work. Lol.

Lifted98XJ Mar 23, 2014 10:03 AM

I would almost sell you mine! Lol it's pretty close to stock. Got all her up and running again too!

b-dub Mar 23, 2014 11:06 AM

Heck I'd take an xj over a jk lol wouldn't want to scratch that shiny paint on a newer rig.. plus the cost of a jk could build a monster of an xj :D

I'm sure you've already seen me go over the deep end and order a crap ton of parts for mine on semo jeeps. I am up in the air on the long arms since I still need to come up with...

Wheels, tires, gears, lockers, valve cover gasket, exhaust manifold, service the front/rear diffs (well I guess that'll be done with the gears) service the trans/transfer... oh and I still need to get my stupid rad fan fixed...

EDIT- and shocks, and disconnects and bump stops and.... ok I don't want to think about it anymore lol I'll take this one order at a time..

I did find a headliner finally.. lol $10 but I'll need to recover it.
