What is a good price?
Greetings. I have a 1995 Cherokee Country with a hole in the engine block. What would be a good price to list it as, or expect to get from a junk yard. Thanks for your help
Yards usually pay by weight, and are not your best option. If you sell it outright, and it's in good shape aside from extra crank case venting, you could get between $250.00-$500.00 for it, IMHO. It sucks, but without a running motor, it's not worth a lot. On the bright side, you might get only $75.00-$100.00 at a yard. For the most profit, you would have to part it out, which is what a yard would do with it. That is a PITA, and will take a lot longer. HTH!!

If you got tools you can rent/buy an engine hoist I got a hoist for $200 from tool king they had cheaper ...A used 4.0 can be had for 200-500 depending on mileage/seller ,so if planned right you could fix it for about $500...oh and most yards are high priced ...so know the market value b4 calling ...I had a used parts place off washington street in Denver quote me $700.00 for a stock salvage yard d35 back in 2003 when I had My ZJ ...that's right $700.00 for a d35 junkyard axle..they wanted $1100 for a ZJ junkyard aluminum d44 ...I laughed at him right as I was hanging up the phone
