Default Visiting Scottsdale/Fountain Hills Area 1st week of March

Hey all,
I've got a work training at Ft. McDowell or some place outside Fountain Hills Feb 28-March 4. Does anyone know of good places to eat or chill out in the evenings? The only transportation I'll have is a motel shuttle to Fountain Hills.

Well welcome to AZ. Its not flashy or anything....

However, from my experience up there, there isnt much to do. the only cool thing is the fountain, which the city is named after. (google it)

What kind of job training is it?

AZ isn't flashy or anything? Are you kidding me? I live in BFE Wyoming. An Olive Garden is flashy for me. Shoot, I have to drive 2 hours to get to a Costco...and that is in another state! I'll be searching for decent food when I'm there. I've got a freezer full of game meat and we have no shortage of amazing beef around here so I'm ready to do the Thai, Sushi, good Chinese, etc. There had better be a Mexican joint that causes me to think about moving South.

I work for the VA so I have 3 full days of lecture based trainings.

Haha i suppose when you come from a area like that we turn into a goldpit...

There are a few good mexican places. Although the only ones i know are in small towns an hour or hour thirty away...but fili B's is pretty good, there is plenty of all those kinds of resturants.

FH doesn't have s**t for mexican food restaurants unless you fancy taco bell or que bueno. i'd avoid their sushi too. if your shuttle van goes into scottsdale; then i'd try "Ra" for sushi. it's very good but you'll pay.

your best bet for proximity in this economy is probably gonna be Pei Wei which is basically pf changs (awesome chinese food) at a discount. it's on 148th & shea:

No decent mexican in Arizona? WTF? I want to walk into a restaurant that has the best freakin' mexican ever but you'd never take a date there because it is so dingy she'd leave to go get tested before the food showed.

first you said ft mcdowell to FH but you've since expanded your boundary.
here are 3 tasty mexican food joints that are sure to leave you with indigestion and onion breath long after your return flight home. not real dingy tho cuz nothin' is too dingy in Snobsdale:
