Since you asked, I would recommend the Spartan they just came out with it for the 8.25! I love mine, no issues, no abnormal operation, hardly noticeable on the street. opinions are like ********, Everybody has one!
they can give there 2 cents but...
Ryan had issues with his Aussie
Jeff has broken more active spacers then I would feel comfortable with in his Powertrax to buy one. (works well but hate having to do things more then once )
I would agree. No matter what you base your choice off of I would recommend using google to find as much info for ANY locker your interested in and read review after review and thread after thread, if there are lots about problems walk away lol My only "don't buy" is a lock-right, the pins are small and known for breaking and mine seams to pop and unload a lot compared to my spartan...
That's a good motto Until you realize you need a new locker that you just bought.... and the cost of shafts.... but I could agree Depending on the End goal... If its a 29 spline then it doesn't apply.
Also, as this is a current topic, I would go cheap in the rear with a Lunchbox locker, and a selectable up front. Unless you can throw down for selectable F+R.

Lockers are kind of a personal preference, depends on what you expect from it and what you use your rig for. I'd recommend a lot of homework regarding all types of lockers before making a choice. Opinions are just that, if your going to go off opinions, get many.
Also, if your going to lock it, upgrading your axle shafts is not a bad idea IMHO.

I've seen it too, seems there for a while that they were throwing design ideas around between the two. From a quality standpoint, why they decided to go with the rubber plug into the later years is beyond me, I'm no engineer but the threaded plug is a much better design. I'm thinking it must have been a cost saving measure. X number of units times the cost of producing a threaded cover and installing the thread in plug versus a rounded out hole with a plastic plug that pops right in, probably got some A-hole a big *** bonus!

I have had a total of two in the year since I've had it, the first was I muffed the install and I broke it by forcing the pin, the second was my driving like an A-hole on Cliffhanger. Hopping a tire and coming down hard, at throttle somethings going to give. A $30 spacer was the victim, I was cool with that, easy fix. Now I'm not letting the product off the hook by any means, more testing to come.
Just wanted to set the record straight, and for the record the sucker performed pretty well until I let my foot get away from me.
