Unfortunately not, I bought my jeep 3 months before I moved out here. Felt like I should have a sturdy 4x4 for the winter season.
I attended San Diego Mesa college for a few years and own a '86 Toyota pick up with 32s and a lift. Used to wheel that through the desert east on the 40. That's where my desire to wheel started. Lol

Rock on. I went to Cal State Northridge. You'll really like the mountains and trails here. Your jeep is already ready for 90% of the trails out here so upgrades here and there will help that much more.

Good thing there were no takers today. Trail was closed.
Gonna try the Bunce School Road trail another day next week. TrailDamage.com says its a good winter trail.

Look up left hand canyon. That's pretty close as well. It's still open, but could be challenging in some areas with a stock jeep.

Only way to learn is to jump in. But I wouldn't suggest going unprepared. Take someone with you that knows what they're doing. At least have a second vehicle or winch. And on the snow thing, in Colorado you can get it all year round, although rare. And in some places up high it just never melts.

Me and Jeremy(dogger15) used to wheel with this guy in a stock Cherokee and I never knew how capable they were till I watched him time after time get by things I thought he'd struggle with. The best thing you can do is just get out and see, you'll be able to do a lot.

That's awesome about the snow, big fan.
A lift isn't needed on most of it. Learning how to drive (without breaking stuff lol) will be key.
