maybe make create my own magazine to showcase this shootout in the process.
Sounds like FUN! lol

Sorry, I do remember reading that now. And of course it's ALWAYS the tires fault. lol

Once had a guy get towed in who had run off a dirt road driving way too fast and hit a boulder ruining a tire. "I want the tire coming off... I'm going to take it back to the guy I bought it from and shove it up his ***."

I looked at him, turned around and put the dead tire back on the car, stopped the tow driver, and then told him "then you can get towed back out of here because I wouldn't want you to come shove this one up my *** someday because you ran off the road again."

And he did... He got towed 40 miles to the next available shop. I don't mess with idiots like that, his money was no good to me at that point. lol

You know it's illegal for the highway unless the tire states that it is "regroovable" right? With that I have one I can sell you... In fact I have all the equipment to "section repair" truck and equipment tires for sale too. lol

the funny part is that he has some experience because he lives in an area that gets snow dumped on it...but in not even gonna use him as a "ha see those tires do suck!" Because we've had many issues with him before so he probably isn't a good driver.

With the right groover it's actually not bad. It's like cutting through butter with a top of the line groover. I have always used a model made in Germany and it has replaceable blades in different shapes and widths that can be set for different depths. It has a set of contacts that close a circuit through the blade like a light bulb filament.

It gets orange hot in less than a second as soon as you start pushing the blade against rubber and cools instantly as soon as you let off. So basically it is instant on demand, all you have to do is have your pattern ready because it is going to cut fast. You can kind of relate it to a jigsaw in how it works and feels when you are using it. lol

Know what? Those regroovers made me rich for over 20 years. There is big money in selling used truck tires. We were recycling about a hundred a week at a profit margin of $50 to $75 per tire for over 20 years until the used casing sources dried up and we quit. There is still money in it for a small operation who can score a few good used regroovable casings to regroove or section now and then.

Just for perspective...That's 20 to 30 K a month if you can process a hundred a week like I was.

So the news said Four Peaks got snow a couple of days ago. If it did get snow it wasn't much because I can see Four Peaks from my window and I don't see snow. Off work today, going to pack a lunch and a few guns and head to the top of Four Peaks to check it out in person. Will report back later.

So this is the view from my window 1 minute ago. Don't see any snow.

So there was no snow on Four Peaks. I didn't go all the way to the top, but close enough to see that there was no snow. I remember now why it has been many years since I last went to the top. Kind of a boring dirt road with a million small rocks that make it overly bumpy and slow. If I had a dedicated trail rig no big deal, but I don't want to vibrate my daily driver Jeep to death by hauling butt on that sort of dirt road. I took a few pics but nothing worth sharing. Was still a beautiful day to be out and about.

No, not even that bad (good?). The road to four peaks, while bumpy and annoying, could be done in a regular car. There are NO challenging spots on it. I am 100% cool with a bumpy road that is challenging and hopefully requires 4x4. It's those dirt roads that Honda Accords are also on that make for boring drives.
