Thanks. I want to get a longer lens and a tripod so I can start planning good shots rather than just hoping I catch one. But both ways can give good results.

Easy there Tex... No worries .... I'm not goin' ape s*** crazy wheelin' with them man. Just sayin' they're doing a lot better for a "crap" tire in all the weather I've had them now then I ever thought they would. Just means I can run them longer than I was originally thinking before putting on a better set of shoes. Especially since tires have gotten more expensive it seems. lol

I'm just pulling your leg man.....funny enough, I got a set after a guy traded them in for better ones because he got them at Wal-Mart, it snowed and he nearly went into a ditch or other object multiple times because they have no grip, wal mart wouldn't take them back, so he came in and I gave him $80 for a set that had 500 miles on them hahah!!! Gonna put them on one of my 3 sets of rims. This was Friday and he left with bfg all terrains. From the cheapest to some of the higher end ones because of one 10 mile snow trip haha

LOL... that's funny man... and no worries mate.. I know you were

My guess is the guy had no clue how to drive in snow. Just my opinion.... I grew up in it, so I'm pretty good at keeping it between the ditches regardless what I'm driving at the time.

you mentioned the rims there Martlor... have to say that usually when it comes to steelies of any kind I usually think they are just about the most butt-ugly thing you can put on any vehicle... but for some strange, unknown reason,.... I'm actually a fan of the ones on my 99. I think it just kinda adds to that minimalistic utilitarian, function over form, no BS, look of the Jeep. I'm also a fan of the Soft 8's in either flat or semi-gloss black. Same kinda overall "it means business" look.
I don't plan on taking them off. I might pop the centers off when the weather gets warmer, tape them off and shoot them with a new coat of paint. but that's about it.

That's what I thought. although he was a customer from up in the high country that gets most of the snow in the area so I would think he has some type of experience having lived there his whole life and being in his 50s or so haha but you never really know someone's skills.

as far as rims, I have a set of every stock rim option for the cherokee EXCEPT the steelies! Go figure hahah.

Funny you bring this up because after I get a lift I will be getting bigger tires and I'm considering getting rid of my aftermarket aluminum wheels and going to steel wheels. For the same reasons you mentioned. But my next set of tires might be drag slicks, just to prove to Martlor that there are worse tires for off-roading than Wranglers. LOL.

....................and the drama continues .... lmao.

To me, are there better shoes out there for our XJs? absolutely.... but I don't mind these in the meantime. Seems Iike I've done so much maintenance on mine since I got her that maybe it just makes me happy that there's one thing I don't have to screw with on it for a while. lol. I mean do they stand out and have me saying "holy crap, I love these things!"... nope... but so far no complaints for the duties I've put them through thus far.

I didn't get to mount my set today. I'm not joking when I say they have about 500 miles on them haha.

I like my tires about worn out for desert driving. They float on that 3/8 ths inch crust without breaking through to the soft stuff under it.

I have 3 sets of tires now currently since I got this wrangler set. Bfg all terrains, falken at3w, and the wranglers. High end, middle range, and low. When I get time, I'm gonna have a mini shootout. I know you can go anywhere, but the efficiency is lacking. I can just see and feel how inferior the wranglers are compared to even just the middle ranged falkens. But alas, I will give them a fair shake and even bring my buddy along on his little ranger with 235s so he can swap all the sets onto his truck and see what he says.

maybe make create my own magazine to showcase this shootout in the process.
