Jeep Rebuild Project.
I have a 2000, Cherokee sport, 4dr, 4x4, 4.0l. I am looking at buying a 97 jeep Cherokee classic, was wondering if its parts compatible for crossing over?

The 97s also came with a high pinion Dana 30 which is significantly stronger than the low pinion in your 2000. I am not sure about the interior (dont know when xjs got the "New interior"... I know 98/99 have it) but a quick glance should give you the answer there. Other than that, everything is the same. |
Where are you located? Probably a few of us that could help ya out if you need it.

If you get it running and want to hit a few trails, there are a few of us who go frequently in Missoula. Just pop into the Montana Roster thread or send me a message. Same if you need help!

Hey so I figure an update is at hand I am currently rebuilding the 97 Cherokee country motor to go into my 2000 Cherokee sport. The engine that is currently in my 2000 sounds horrible, the oil pressure gauge has basically went to 0, only when its cold and the first start of the day is there any pressure reading on the gauge. I am trying to find a rebuild without replacing the pistons, and maybe upgrading the camshaft. Any thoughts on what I should use for a kit. I am looking at spending around 400-500 for a rebuild kit for the 97 country engine.

So I have started an Album Operation Pheonix, and I am going to start updating and looking at hopefully buying things but for right now I need a new floor pan I need to replace the part that went over the Trans and Tcase. It is destroyed. I dont know where to look at honestly for a complete floor pan not just a section or one side. I need a whole front floor pan. Is that even possible?
