IE Meet & Greet trip #3!
Staging area:

Here are the direction from the 15 to the staging area. Be sure to have a full tank of gas before arriving.
First leg:
Pilot Rock 2N33. Meet at 9 am Saturday on the north side of Silverwood lake, off the 173, this will take us to the north side of Lake arrowhead.
Second leg:
Willow Creek to Crab Flats 3N43 which is going to take us to Big Pine Flat in the North woods of Big Bear. This will be a long day behind the wheel with some very technical sections.

There is plenty of Camping opportunity there from maintained campsites to Yellow post pack in/pack out sites. All sites that require a reservation will be your responsibility to book.
Big Pine Flat campground is located about 7.5 miles north of Big Bear lake, on Forest Road 3N14, just past where 3N16 crosses. It is located at an elevation of 6,820 feet. To get there: from Hwy 38, head north on Rim of the World Drive out of Fawskin. After the pavement ends, the road turns into Forest Road 3N14. Continue another 7 miles to the campground. Of the five campgrounds here, it is the furthest away from the lake and the longest drive on dirt roads to reach. Most sites within the campground are sunny with a few shadier spots. All roads and sites within the campground are dirt, but well marked. There is a beautiful little meadow within the campground as well as plenty of sagebrush and other small native plants. Drinking water is available on a limited basis, so RVs/trailers are encouraged to fill up before arriving to the campground. Campground is strictly first-come, first-serve only – no reservations.
Amenities – 19 single-family tent/RV sites, vault toilets, picnic tables, fire rings, campground host, drinking water. Campsite space/spur length is 30 feet.
Activities – Hiking, biking, off-roading, relaxing.
Best features – Secluded, drinking water available, beautiful grass meadow, on-site camp host.
Worst features – Few amenities, long drive on dirt road to campground, metal picnic tables get very hot on sunny days.

What to bring:
Full size spare
Hi-lift Jack

Extra fluids: Water, Oil, Coolant, Gear oil, Trans fluid etc.
Any other spare part(s) you may want

Cooler with drinks and snacks for the day. (No alcohol)

I put it there to cover the run, you are an adult and make your own choice.

Default I'm in

I took a look at google earth. Like like a great run. The run ends at Deep Creek crossing. ( i crossed it a few week ago. Not deep. I saw some vid on utube when the crossing was really deep. There is a camp ground at the end of our run. For Saturday night it that happens.
OBTW
I Have to take some responsibility for the no Alcohol. I made a statement about it at the M&G.
Sorry. I guess it's the Insurance side of me. Lol
