Default Big bear wheeling ...

Howdy folks -- I am sure this has been asked before: how tough are these trails and how long is your usual day ? I have a STOCK 2000 XJ and do not want to get it too beat up (daily driver). I use my '95 YJ for the rocky/muddy stuff; but it needs a radiator right now.
What are your 2 top trail choices ? Just downloaded a map of the area.

you'll be fine with your stock jeep. Alphas jeep is not lifted and he said hes made it through it all up their. You have multiple choices on paths to take. His is his DD also. You should definitely make a day out of it and head up for the day. This is our first organized run and would love to have a half way decent turn out.

Last time I ran Gold Mountain backwards, North to South. Made it through without too much trouble, though it is easier to slide down an obstacle than climb up. I have not done John Bull, at stock height there would be too many hang ups.

I was thinking of going with Gold Mountain, South to North. I have also been informed that there will be the largest Enduro motorcycle event in Big Bear this weekend as well. We'll just try not to run any over.

hey alpha, what do you think about the idea of setting up a once a month group trail run.
i like that theres a mix of rigs in the group, stockers to mild built.

Going to attempt to put on my gas tank skid this SAT and possibly tow hitch (if it comes) -- if all goes well, I might drive up on Sunday.
If trail is too rough for stock, maybe I will see if someone wants a passenger ??
Plan on putting on a 2" OME lift hopefully at the end of summer ....

There is a suggestion of running Pontiac sluice instead. I know Gold Mountain would be a challenge South to North for stock guys, really just looking to do a trail everyone can have fun with.
