Ugh, moving :/... hope it went smoothly though. I moved out here from Memphis, TN two years ago and landed in Santa Rosa. Pulled a FULLY loaded 12' U-haul trailer with my XJ from Memphis, TN and it did great except for overheating west of Needles with coolant boiling out the overflow bottle but it lived was fine after cooling down for an hour. Made it the rest of the way with no problems. Loving Sonoma/Marin/Mendocino.

I'm in Santa Clara. Does anyone know any local spots to go wheeling in the Santa Cruz mountains? I'm new to the area but still want to go wheeling and the east bay hills are so far away..

Not in Santa Cruz but Hollister is the place to be. All the cool cats go there. You'll thank me later. http://ohv.parks.ca.gov/?page_id=1179

BTW, the hardcore course has been updated in the last year. Was there last Tuesday and it was nutz-o.

Thanks, I'll check out Cow Mountain. XJ is pretty stock on suspension w R235 tires. I also do a bit of traveling at the Trinity river but since this is my first Jeep, have not had a chance to find the trails there yet.

Martinez here as well. Not sure if I've posted in this thread yet. Just got my new wheels, can't wait to get them mounted.

I got what everyone else gets, haha. 15x8, 3.75 backspacing, D windows. Got them for super cheap, couldn't pass them. Will any tire shop mount them to my current tires? Called a few places and they said they wouldn't mount to used tires. They might have thought if I bought used tires and had them mounted.

Mount and balance is usually $20 per wheel/tire. For a chain store that doesn't ask questions I'd suggest Big O. I had problems at a couple others when just asking to mount tires/wheels I already owned.

You can also look for a place near you that sells used tires to help you... I've done that before and the mounting/balancing is usually cheaper. Or gas stations with tire equipment will do it too.

Thank you both. Figured I'll get new tires here in the next few weeks, so I'll just save my money!
