My question is I just got a Jeep Cherokee used and off a lot, while test driving I was going in reverse and turned the wheel all the way to the right and stepped on the gas and it turned off. What is the problem here?

it's possible the battery isn't strapped down and shifted, either shorting out the terminals on the hood, or pulling on a cable, loosing connection.

i know you can unhook a battery while a vehicle is running, and it will stay running, but that's the first thing i would look into.
