All in all things went well.

Today I put the transfer case back in, installed the new Novak linkage and adjusted it, installed the new rear DS, re-installed the front DS, and began installing the CB. I've routed the antenna and bracket ground but had to take some extra time to get the location for the CB prepped (pics to come)

I had a rattle in the interior rear of my ol' '94XJ SE
it was making me nuts
I tried checking to see if the back seat latch passenger side being a little loose was it- nope

opened up the interior trim panel- found the wiring bundle was a bit floppy- quick ties that so it didn't flop back and forth as much- and nope

surprised the next one din't hit me in the head ( lift gate struts are getting old)

I found that the bottom of the interior panel on the driver's side was loose
it was loose enough to look behind without unscrewing anything

the little piece of grey plasting that the retainer "pin" went thru broke off from the panel
ergo- flapping against the metal gate

so , shy of replacing the whole interior panel I drilled thru the panel & into the retainer pin & then screwed the panel in - 10 min from the time I opened the parts drawer of screws to the time I put the drill away

the process- - match drill bit to screws ( stating the obvious)

using a pencil I used a 2 point cross reference to - marked the edge of the panel with a pencing- making not of the center of the white plastic retaining pine - drew a line in & drilled where they crossed.

I did it slow and careful- put in the screw

whit the way stuff has been going on this 5 speed rust bucket, I am afraid thes "fix" went too fast and easy

I finished up the valve cover job I was working on and fixed up the ccv system along with it. The rear tube was totally clogged. The front was disintegrated and gunked up too.

I have some potential solutions for the ccv system and vacuum system I'm working on putting together, but not quite ready for a technical write up yet. Still more testing to do.

Still need to fix all the bad grounds and the battery was too dead to fire it up. Yesterday I replaced the harmonic balancer since the old one was separating and squealing like hell.

I'll give it a jump tomorrow and see how she goes! This will be the first time since I drove it home that it should be running pretty close to optimal. Very excited for this, but also extremely tired.

It lives! It runs really well. Idles right at 600 rpm. Battery is charging again and holding after fixing the main leads, totally toasted.

Gave it a good wash too, but still a lot of scrubbing to do.
