new xj'er in stanwood camano area
howdy folks got me a bone stock 85 xj, 4 banger 5 spd. needs work but im looking forward to the task and build. hoping to have her ready come summer for maybe some BDR camping. also looking forward to picking everyones brains on xj knowledge

Ok so i have started digging into this XJ. I know I need a new valve cover and gasket (PO wrenched this thing down to the point it coming to bits). No reading visible on thermostat at all. Heater/Fan selector seems to function proper but nothing but freezing air blows. Right now over all it runs ****e. Ordered a new head-gasket, figure it is prob bad either way a new ones going on. XJ has 200k inside is in top condition for the age. What other typical mechanical should i focus on?
