Default New ORV Park in Washington

Yes folks I said those magic words. We are hopefully going to be getting the final say here in a few short months on the Yacolt Burn OHV Park near Jones Creek. There is about 25 purposed miles of trails as of this moment. Its being voted on by DNR up in Olympia here soon and then its off to SEPA (if I have that right) which is a environmental evaluation. DNR says that is should be no problem passing and they have even hired a new official to oversee the trail project. I'll try to keep you guys posted as much as possible, and please dont hesitate to ask questions.

On another note: They will be glad to recieve donations and free labor for the construction and maintaining of trails. This project is being completely funded by you and me, NO tax money or grants are given to this project. Some of our local 4x4 clubs have had car shows to raise money for funds. I can let you know where to donate, but I must get back to the head person first. This is Exciting news to say the least!

Answers: I am getting my info from a local 4x4 club forum Pistons Wild, but I think DNR's website has info on it. I am going to donate time and money when they get the final say. I'll let you guys know.

Its in the Yacolt Burn, just outside of Vancouver.

Would you guys be interested in volunteering to help build or maintain the trails?

A little bit of good info here. There was a head DNR guy that came up from California last weekend to view the proposed trails. Good news is that everything is still on its way to being approved. They said that almost all of the trails are going to be ok but since we have allot of rain, they will have to do some study/engineering of the very wet trails to keep them from eroding away.

Well, there really isnt much of a website about it, but the 4x4 club that I have been invovled with is Pistons Wild Motorsports Club. Heres there link.
Look in the "Public Land Issues" section then look in subsection "Yacolt Burn Trail Project" Heres the link to our forum:http://pistonswildforum.proboards.com/index.cgi
