I don't know much about the 99s but I'd check the important electrical connections, (cps, coil, distributor, ecu, pcm, etc) to make sure there clean and properly connected. Kinda sounds like a bad coil but could be so many things.

Do you have fuel available at the rail, after it dies? Or is the fuel rail dry?

Hows the spark during the time its running?

You might also try Google ing your symptoms, if you haven't already. ..

My 98 backfires once in a while thru the intake when I start it cold but I'll be damned if I can figure out why my computer controlled timing varies.

Good luck.

Start your jeep and go under the hood, find your cps wires and start wiggling it around. Specifically wiggle it around back near where it goes into the bellhousing in the back of the engine, alot of times those wires get frayed and start grounding out on bumps/turns and causing the jeep to die.

Also you should be able to pull the code at autozone or any other parts store to see what the culprit could be.

Also could be your ignition switch if it dies when you turn real sharp.
