Yeah... gotta leave it in there. If I don't, I'm the only one that can see it 'cause it's my album.

I'm confused as to what you're "leaving in there" or taking out?

The google image url in column b. I thought I could take it out after embedding the photo, thereby clearing the whole line and not having to have a spreadsheet loaded up with hotlinks.... but when I do that, the code that I post only allows me to see the photo because I'm the owner of the album. So you indeed have to leave the codes in place for others to see it.

you don't need to leave the link in the google sheet. You do have to open the image in google photos, then click share, get link, click link and then right click the photo and get image URL.

Edit: you should be able to open the same post/page in incognito mode for testing if you shared it right.
