All Moog p/n's for a 96 XJ Sport

Upper BJ - K3134T
Lower BJ - K3161T
Tie rod - DS1238
Tie Rod (end) - ES3094L
Tie Rod (end) - ES3096L
Track Bar - DS1235
Tie Rod Sleeve (qty 2) - ES2079S
Tie Rod (ZJ upgrade - replaces DS1326S and ES3095R) - DS1312

Best source to confirm your specific model is this Moog site:

http://www.moog-suspension-parts.com/default.asp
You mentioned a Tie Rod with 1 part number and then list another Tie Rod in ( ). Which one should I get? Also, what year and motor Grand Cherokee are these parts for? Just in case the parts guys can't cross reference the moog #'s.
Thanks,
Wayne

In my case, the "beefier" stuff is only applicable to XJ's with lifts. It would not work on stock height XJ's. I checked aftermarket first before searching for OE replacements.

I'm not trying to call you a liar, but the 98 I did the conversion on wasn't lifted at all and everything went smoothly. What year was yours that it did not work on? Maybe we can figure out the deal here.

The DS1312 is the ZJ p/n that replaces the two OE numbers in parenthesis.

What are you referring too? ZJ HD upgrade or aftermarket kit? The ZJ is a direct fit. The aftermarket stuff tends to be for lifted vehicles. I didn't come across anything that was for my stock height XJ at a reasonable price.

Just a quick FYI to anyone that has been searching for these parts....

AVOID buying from www.autopartsexpress.com.

After 5 days, i am just now getting my tracking info for the order I placed, and per other reviews I've read (after the fact), its quiet possible my order could arrive with missing or incorrect items.

I'll post an update here once the order arrives Monday.

I chose this company as they had the cheapest prices for Moog parts, plus free shipping for orders over $199. I spent $400 total.

They also sell on ebay under the same name, so buyers beware.

Yes, I did notice that but, you also have listed DS1238 on the top of your list.

I want to do this but, I'm confused as to what ones to actually get. Can someon please post up just the needed part numbers for this upgrade?

Thank you

Wayne

If not overhauling the front end, all you need is:

DS1312
ES3096L
ES2079S

Done.

Not true, tie rods are gonna be the same general length and adjustable just like stock, your tires and wheels dont get farther apart just because you lift.Track bar would be different though

I'm not totally "brushed up" on the subject when talking non-OE parts, but the few items I came across had notes stating things like "intended for use on vehicles with 4"-8" lift. Not applicable for vehicles with 0" lift."

Just stating what I read. Plus, I don't go off-road, so the performance stuff would be overkill for me anyway.

Makes sense,if you don't need it no use wasting your money on it

Did any of you guys need an alignment after changing the tie rod? If mine bends or brakes I will upgrade to the ZJ.
